The Omineca Mountain Range hunting area has a large and abundant population of goats spread all over the area. Our billy goats average 9 ½” in length and 5 ¾” bases with quite a few 10” plus. The area has produced goats scoring over 50 B&C.
Due to our remote location the hunting pressure is extremely low and many of these goats have never seen a person. The hunting success is very near 100%.

The huntning season runs mid-August to mid-September. In the early season goats are more accessible (weather) but the later season goats have more luxurious (longer and thicker) coats.

The goats are hunted in the higher mountains, so you need a lot of endurance and fittnes, which makes that to a very special kind of hunt. All hunts are by way of horses and/or backpack.

During the hunt you normally live in rustical cabin or tent camps, which lay next to rivers and are not far away from the good hunting spots. You´ll be guided by a professional hunter, who is an expert in this territory.
Your trip will begin out of either Burns Lake or Smithers.
If you are planning on driving here, you can drive right to the float dock in burns lake. There is parking available and it is a safe place to leave your vehicle. If you are flying commercial then you will need to book your flights into Smithers (CYYD) via Vancouver. We´ll pick you up at the airport with our charter plain.

The transportation in the hunting area is mostly the traditional way by horse mixed with a combination of backpacking or river boats. Typically we use the horses to get from base camp up into the high basins where we will have a spike camp to hunt out of. Sometimes, once up there we will take off backpacking for a few days to access more country not accessible by horse.

Charter flights to and from the hunting area, licences and species tags for selected hunts are included as well as all meals, skinning, caping, and meat care.

The hunter preservation fund, governmental royalities and taxes and the hunting license are included as well.

It is possible to take a non hunting accompanion with you. Costs are 300 $ per hunting day.

If you are not possible to bring your own gun, for 550 $ iin total it is possbile to borrow a proffesional gun with ammunition included.

The hunting area is remotely located in the Omineca Mountains of North/Central British Columbia approximately 200 air miles north of Smithers or Burns Lake. It is truly one of the last untouched and pristine wilderness areas left.
