The Kamchatka moose is the largest in the world. They were introduced to Kamchatka in the 80s from the Anadyr basin. The new habitat, due to the abundance and diversity of feed, was the result of the “gigantism” of the animal. The weight of males can reach 800 kg, the body length up to 3.5 m., and the height at the withers of 2.4 m.
\nHunting seasons:
\nAll mature age and gender groups-from November 1 to December 31;
\nAdult males-from September 1 to September 30
\nKamchatka moose hunting methods may vary. It is individual every time and depends on many factors. They include hunting from a blind or high seat, stalking, cow calling etc.
\nSo, even in Kamchatka, our farms are located in hard-to-reach places, there are no roads and it is necessary to use a helicopter. On average, it is 4-5 hours per round. In a helicopter a group of 5 hunters (for bear and moose) can take place . A maximum of 3 hunters in a group can be placed on a snow sheep. The cost of a helicopter, 1 hour of summer is about 2,600 euros. It is divided up all hunters of the group.
