Hunting is prohibited in Scotland on Sundays. Therefore, most of our guests arrive on that day and begin hunting on Monday morning. Red deer may be hunted from July 1st to October 20th.<\/p>\n
By mid-September, at least the older stags have completely shed their antlers. The rut takes place in the first half of October, and witnessing the bellowing of the red deer in the Highlands is a truly special natural spectacle. A British import permit is required for bringing firearms into the country.<\/p>\n

The Scottish mountain red deer doesn't grow very large. The Highlands aren't forested, but covered with knee-high heather, giving you unobstructed views of the magnificent panorama. You'll be amazed at how close your guide will get to the game. These stalkers are true masters of tracking and have known red and sika deer since they were young. It's a pleasure to hunt with them.<\/p>\n
All calibers suitable for hunting big game in our country are also permitted for red deer hunting in Scotland. However, please avoid bringing your heavy big-game rifle. Anything more powerful than .30-06 or 7×64 will be viewed with suspicion.<\/p>\n
