A strong population of mountain goats are found in the Skeena regions. Mountain goats adapted to living on steep cliffs and are slow methodical climbers who prefer to move during daylight when there is good visibility. The Takla area has a long history of producing fine billies. The mountain goats in our region are genetically larger, and it is not uncommon to find billies 9\u201d-10\u201d class with a body weight of 300 pounds.
