The hunting area is privately owned and located in the stunning region near Bel Ombre, in the southwest of Mauritius. Our exclusive territory spans 4,000 hectares and is home to approximately 2,500 Rusa deer. This pristine landscape offers an unparalleled hunting experience, guided by professional Mauritian hunters who are experts in the area and the behavior of Rusa deer.

A fully grown male Rusa deer weighs between 150 – 180 kg. Like all deer species, only the males have antlers, which they use for fighting. The antlers are shed in mid-December and fully regrow by the end of May. Their broad ears, round eyes, and distinctive brown-to-chocolate-colored coats make them a unique and sought-after hunting trophy.

The rutting season takes place from mid-July to the end of August, making this period the most thrilling time to hunt, as males become aggressive and highly territorial.

Hunting typically takes place during the morning and evening by stalking, ensuring an ethical and immersive experience. If you successfully harvest a stag on the first hunting day, you can enjoy an extra day of relaxation. If not, additional hunting days are provided free of charge until you take down a stag.

Important Information
You can rent a rifle for free, including ammunition.
Bow hunting is also possible.

In case of damage, a replacement fee applies:
Rifle: 3.750 EUR
Optic: 2.500 EUR

If a stag measures more than 34 inches, a supplement of 1500 EUR will be charged
The cost per wild boar during the 2 days planned in the contract is 250 EUR per wild boar per hunter
The cost for any additional yearling deer or wild boar hunted during a same day, including the day fees and the lunch is 610 EUR per hunter and 250 EUR per animal
For wild boars, only males are hunted
For trophy wild boars (>10 cms tusks) a supplement of 100 EUR
