Im Westen Weißrusslands liegt die Puszcza Bialowieska, der letzte Urwald Europas und Heimat der größten freilebenden Wisent-Population der Welt. Einst nur dem Zaren und Hochadel vorbehalten, ist die Jagd auf dieses mächtige Wild heute auch für erfahrene Jäger mit entsprechender Lizenz möglich.
Die Rückkehr des Wisents ist eine wahre Erfolgsgeschichte des Artenschutzes: Aus nur wenigen Exemplaren entwickelte sich eine bejagbare Population mit weltweit mehreren tausend Tieren. Heute kommen Wisente unter anderem in Polen, Weißrussland, dem Kaukasus und der Ukraine wieder vor – kleinere Bestände leben auch in Deutschland.
Die Jagd auf den Wisent ist streng reglementiert. Jedes Jahr werden nur wenige Lizenzen vergeben – meist für überalterte Stiere und Kühe, die züchterisch nicht mehr von Bedeutung sind. Diese Tiere tragen jedoch beeindruckende Trophäen: Die Holme eines alten Stieres erreichen bis zu 50 cm Länge und einen Basisumfang von bis zu 35 cm. Fast alle Trophäen werden als Kopf-Schulter-Montage präpariert, was ihre eindrucksvolle Erscheinung noch unterstreicht.
Die beste Jagdzeit liegt zwischen November und Januar. Bei Schnee und guter Sicht ist die Pirsch besonders spannend – der Anblick eines alten Stieres auf einer verschneiten Blöße bleibt unvergessen. Erfahrene Berufsjäger führen Sie sicher durch das Revier, kennen das Verhalten der Tiere aus eigener Erfahrung und ermöglichen Ihnen eine ethisch und jagdlich anspruchsvolle Jagd.
Für den Wisent braucht es eine entsprechend starke Patrone – ideal sind etwa die .375 H&H Magnum, 9,3x62, .300 Weatherby Magnum oder 8x68 S. Wichtig ist ein präziser Schuss tief ins Blatt, da das Herz des Wisents besonders tief liegt. Die durchschnittliche Schussentfernung beträgt etwa 100 Meter.

In western Belarus lies the Bialowies Forest, the last primeval forest in Europe and home to the world's largest wild population of bison. Once reserved only for the tsars and the high nobility, hunting this mighty animal is now also possible for experienced hunters with the appropriate license.
The return of the European bison is a true conservation success story: From just a few individuals, a huntable population of several thousand animals developed worldwide. Today, bison are once again found in Poland, Belarus, the Caucasus, and Ukraine, among other places – smaller populations also live in Germany.
European bison hunting is strictly regulated. Only a few licenses are issued each year – mostly for over-aged bulls and cows that are no longer of breeding value. However, these animals bear impressive trophies: The hocks of an old bull can reach up to 50 cm in length and a base girth of up to 35 cm. Almost all trophies are prepared as head-and-shoulders mounts, which further emphasizes their impressive appearance.
The best hunting season is between November and January. Stalking is especially exciting when there's snow and good visibility – the sight of an old bull on a snowy clearing is unforgettable. Experienced professional hunters will guide you safely through the area, familiar with the animals' behavior from their own experience, and ensure you enjoy a hunt that's both ethically and professionally challenging.
The European bison requires a correspondingly powerful cartridge – ideal cartridges include the .375 H&H Magnum, 9.3x62, .300 Weatherby Magnum, or 8x68 S. A precise shot deep into the leaf is important, as the European bison's heart is located particularly deep. The average shooting distance is about 100 meters.
