You normally hunt in the morning and evening times by stalking with a professional Mauritian hunter, who is an expert in this hunting area and with the Rusa deer.
Our hunting area is one of the best of Mauritius. We have about 2500 deers on our 4000 hectar hunting area.
A fully grown male Rusa deer weighs 150 – 180 kg. Like all the deer tribes, only the males have specifically shaped horns, which they use durring the fight.
The male loses its antlers in mid-December. Fully re-growth in ends of May. The deer’s horns are dense and heavy and these make them very dangerous for its rivals during the fight. The animal’s throat presents an almost white, well-marked towel. It has powerful and outward projecting cheeks. The Rusa deer is identified by its very large broad ears and round eyes. Their coat goes from very a clear brown to the brownish chocolate for the males.
The rut takes place from mid-July till the end of August according to the photoperiod and the evolution in the females’ estrus. During this magic period of courting the males show their love to the females which are not long in succumbing to their desire. At this time the males become very aggressive and territorial. This time is the most exciting for hunting the rusa deer.
The package includes two hunting days and 6 days with 7 nights in one of our luxury accomodations. If you shoot a stag on the first hunting day you can relax one day more. If you haven´t shot it on the second day, we will offer more hunting days for free, as long as it needs to bring down a Stag.
You can rent a gun from us for free. Its a 30.06 Blazer R8 with a 2x12*50 optic. The ammunition is also included in the price. Its also possible to hunt with bow. if you break the rifle it would be 3750€ extra, the optic would be 2500€.
The pickup from the airport is also included in the price. With our 4x4 hunting cars we pick you up at the airport and bring you to the hotel and hunting area.
As you can see at the costs for the different accomodations it´s not expensive to bring a non hunting person with you. The given price is for the hunting lodge.
If you shoot a Rusa Stag with a non typical trophy its 550€ less.
If a second hunter with his own Hunting package comes with you and sleeps in the same room its not even double price. In the 5stars All-Inclusive hotel its 2930€ more, in the 5 stars half board hotel its 2990€ extra and in the 4 stars hotel its 2860€ more.
The given price is for one hunter in the 4 star Hotel. If he brings a non hunting person with him it would be 360€ more.
The 5 star All Inclusive hotel is 870€ more, for a non hunting person it is 430€ more.
The 5 star Half board hotel is 570€ more, for a non hunting person it would be 490€.
